Yup! The acrylic paintings keep happening! Am I getting better? I don’t know… Anyway here is the uggo under painting. It doesn’t look great yet. I hope it will eventually. I drew this at the same time as Cat Wizard but started on Cat Wizard first. So now it’s Mermaid time! This will be my second acrylic mermaid. I have different plans for this one though. I want to make the fish body a white opalescent sort of koi body with orange/vermilion accents. Mostly because the greens and blues are SO dominant I need a contrast color.
I’m also working on a personal watercolor that I’m not going to show anyone. It’s for a story idea I have, which isn’t a story yet. Just an idea of an idea.
This is the only peek you get of my idea painting!
BUT I do have my 1920’s inspired Pokemon trainer for you- she’s up on Ko-fi :) So please check her out! I might draw another one. If I could draw men I would do an entire region of 1920’s but drawing guys is hard… I also want to mention that the watercolor is 9x12 and got cut off by my scanner and I should have readjusted it a third time on the scanner bed so that it cut off more of the top rather than the bottom. But I didn’t. I am also unhappy that this ended up so predominantly blue! I planned poorly! And then I had to really wedge in those reds and oranges.
Nextly: I am thinking about thinking about thinning my doll herd… I’m not sure how to approach it. I have gotten my collection to the point where everything is irreplaceable! I could never put together the same dolls as I have now. At least not with any ease. That is one thing that really hampers the culling. I am pretty well stuck. I WOULD part with more if I knew they were going to good homes that wouldn’t turn around and immediately sell them! I would even be willing to take a dive on the prices- which I would have to anyway! Because anything I’m willing to part with is not going to worth anywhere NEAR what I paid for it. So that is disheartening as well. But like I said, I could stand it if I knew they were going to a good home!
In writing news: The R&R continues sloooowly. I only really work when my local friend is available for write-ins. I might try to get my shit together a little more. The will and effort have pretty much evaporated. The skill is still there thank goodness. But it’s been difficult to maintain any sort of interest in working for nothing on books it feels like no one will ever see/read.enjoy. And what are we writing for if our books can’t bring enjoyment to our readers? For me that’s the whole point. I’m not just “writing for myself”. I have a journal for that shit.
Anyway here are some photos of one my little oddities, Nefer Kane Bloon. I also have Moon who literally has a moon head with craters. Some of you have seen them. Some of you have not. I NEVER figured out if I liked her with hair or without hair better…. She’s been wigless all this time because I guess I’ve always leaned toward no hair, but it’s a tough call…
