When the Pine Bough Breaks

So here is the THIRD VERSION OF MY FREAKING LESHY. It’s goddamn pine bush and I have spent WAY too much time on what is basically a throw away character. Anyway, I ditched the horn and gave them long fox type ears, but not really. And honestly I’m still not satisfied! I should have just water colored it! I did something a little different for this piece; I sketched the shape in colored pencil, then worked entirely in colored pencil until the end when I added ink to black in a few areas and then added the pine needles with Faber Castell PITT India ink markers.

I gotta say I still feel very far away from what I want Pine to look like. I just want something cute but I can’t get a shape/silhouette I like. This is closer I guess.

Anyway, no Sunday morning game, and no Monday game so I had time to get chores done! Yay? Also- I freaking hate the time change. It blows getting up an hour early! I hate it!

A bit more art. With a few days off I’ve had time to do more art. This is just another color experiment. I saw an artist on Pinterest who makes beautiful watercolors and uses contrasting colored pencils to shade and I wanted to have a try. It’s not great… but I guess it’s OK. It’s my usual- one eye is bigger than the other, I can’t make anything symmetrical, and forget about backgrounds, perspective or camera angles Art.Pffft. Blob I wish I could art. Oh, and I am eyeing some more art supplies on Jerry’s Artarama. A quick note on this paper, it’s a cheap Creative Mark multimedia paper but it’s nice to screw around on. The paper is very soft so it pills easily, gouache would be better, but whatever.

I’ve also been obsessively looking at Pokemon trainers on Pinterest and I REALLY want to play more Pokemon games! Maybe this girl is Pokemon trainer. I also finished the latest run of Pokemon episodes on Netflix.

OH! And I’m finally replacing my busted headset with mic. It died over a year ago, I the phone has been fine. BUT I am sad my audio is so bad. I listened back to the 3 hour GM chat we had on Anna’s Adventures and everyone has better audio than I do. So I figured it was time to get a headset. I looked up a couple articles on the best headphones for long calls and settled on a very reasonably priced Logitech headset with mic which you can just plug it into the USB and it works, no software or anything. BUT the downside is I can’t wander around the house like I used! So I may be using my phone for a lot.
