Yes, another little waify dark elf. I tried out the Artfinity marker set I got. They are nice. I need a lot of paler tones in order to build shades, but they work well with the colored pencils. This was drawn in between the other more folk clothes inspired elves I have drawn. I have one more to color.
The tones/values don’t build like Copics of course, but they are cheaper and I can pick up individual markers to build on the set on 48 I purchased. It’s also nice to have something I color with quickly in those terrible Strathmore Vision sketchbooks I have FOUR of… They are shit with every other medium! The colors are better in real life. Again, I am down to snap-shots and edits on my phone because my scanner is now a really big fucking paperweight. My edits washed out the colors in my effort to get lighten the photo because it came out dark.
Things I’m watching—Love After Divorce: Another Korean dating show, all the participants are divorced. Once Upon A Small Town: K-Dramedy, big city vet goes to take care of his grandfather’s veterinarian clinic in a rural small town. Romance and warm fuzzy feels ensue. Singles Inferno: Finished S2. WORTH IT. OMFG MAKE MORE SEASONS NETFLIX I FUCKING HATE YOU! And who do I have shove under a bus to get more episodes of Love is Blind Japan? I also require more Love Wagon and a second season of Love Village. WHY does Netflix not obey me?
Gamewise: working on a map for my next Pokémon D&D game but the map is AWFUL! And I keep working on it and it keeps getting worse. I want to trace it and transfer it to watercolor paper but I realized my tracing paper pad is packed. Wah wah (sad trombone). That’s actually why I keep working on the terrible map. I’m also losing a Pokémon D&D player!!! ARG!!! That game started out as two groups on different days and has whittled down to 3 players and now 2… I’m not best pleased. I need another player but I don’t want just anybody!
Lastly I ordered a Hobonichi HON planner for 2024 and I am going to use it for game notes! All my game notes will be on the day the game was played in one book and it should make life easier! That’s also why I forked over for the A5 size (bigger pages, AND I even splurged on the matching pencil board. I still haven’t found many pens I like using in the Hobonichi. I know they are 90% designed for fountain pen enthusiasts. And I would like to get a fountain pen, I want to be more environmentally conscious and use a refillable pen, BUT I also know that fountain pens are fussy. The other 10% left over is for gel pens. Namely the Signo DX. I DO love Signo DX but they also get fussy and skip at times, plus you can see the gel ink going down, down, down, and know you have to buy refills or a new pen. Maybe I’ll just get a blue or black Signo DX and a bunch of refills from Jetpens and call it good. BUT you know what will actually happen! I will never have the pen on hand when I need it and will be grabbing whatever is in reach.
My sister is so into k-dramas that she and some friends are going to Korea on a trip. I’ve watched some, but am not as into them.
Love hearing about pens and markers. Fountain pens can be fussy. Dip-pens are a pain, but might be less expensive and more versatile? Still as fussy, tho. ☹️
