I am still waiting on the pinbacks but BEHOLD I have a large set of Arteza gouache and the wrong Artxx order of two sets of Simtap 24 acrylic markers. Between those two things (and because I know for a fact that acrylic goes on perfectly over gouaches) I should be ready when the pinbacks arrive!!! I am DYING to get started! If I need individual Posca markers I can pick them up one at a time.
I’m not going to take pics of all the colors. But this should keep in the pin painting biz for a good long while! And with lots of options!
And, OMG y’all! There is a Korean live action version of the manga/anime Parasyte: The Grey and YO it is SO GOOD!! Absolutely phenomenal!! Watch it and give it two thumbs up and maybe we’ll be lucky and get 6 more episodes in three years! The same goes for Hellbound, another K-drama with INCREDIBLE world building. I watched it a few months ago and it says another season is on it’s way but of course it’s been on Netflix for about 3 years or so and I am eagerly waiting for more.
The guy who directed Train to Busan is responsible for both these shows and they are 10000% worth your time. Even the wait time for the next season which is maddening, is worth it.
Next up: Art! I have been doing a decent amount! Here is a gouache piece I finished. I put a late process shot pic on Insta but the nicer scan goes here. Scans are too big to post on Instagram so they appear exclusively here.
It’s not the best. I have been chasing a very small watercolor “catscape” I made a year ago which came out perfect and I have been unable to replicate it. This is primarily gouache with some acrylic paint marker on top. I’m so glad the combo works! There is a touch of color pencil in as well. I’m not sure I’m 100% on painting with gouache. Mostly I see other people use it SO WELL and I want to be good at it too, but it’s very difficult for me. I already posted this ages ago but here is the original catscape so you can compare.
Last year I was considering trying to make it my Art by the Foot submission, and this year I’m pondering the same thing. Trying it in acrylic might be a disaster though. I don’t know. The Squarefoot show is coming up so I need to start thinking about it and buy a panel. I also did a catscape in bookmark form which I’ll show you soon. You can see a pic on my Instagram.
Anyway, pins will be coming soon! The DREAM would be to sell 10 pins a month! But that is WILDLY optimistic. I’ll be lucky to sell a couple a year… They will NOT be going on Etsy though. I wave watched several YouTube videos about how bad the platform has gotten. In person sales are also a big question mark. I may need to rely on Insta and Ko-fi which has a shop feature. I posted a couple of Pokemon watercolors for sale there but they never sold. I also have a computer wallpaper you can download but I don’t think that sold either…
That original catscape is very cool. I can see why you’d like to do more.
