OK! So I am officially working on the first beta pins. They are not the best. But I am trying! And I could potentially get better! I am having a little trouble with the Artxx Simtap acrylic markers. They are lifting the gouache! Oh no!! I am also not sure I did the right thing buying brush markers. I KNOW my brush control is iffy… It’s just that Posca pens are SO EXPENSIVE and I spent SO MUCH MONEY getting this project off the ground! So I needed something cheap I could work with. Anyway here are some process shots of the pins. The gouache set I have from Arteza also have metallic and pearl colors and at first I was like, I’ll never use these! And then I’m like- well why not use them?? I also started off wanting to make complicated floral miniature paintings on the tea pots and I though- why am I doing this to myself?
And of course I have art for you! Not that the pins don’t count, my cameras are all just ass so I like to post things here I have scanned in because at least they don’t look completely abysmal. Froggo! I am TERRIBLE at drawing frogs even though for cartoon frogs they are about like cats, by which I mean you only have to draw a frog shaped blob, stick eyes on, and voila! Frog!
Oh, and I might be sending some of these first run pins out to YOU my friends! On the proviso that if anyone asks where you got it you give them my Instagram username [@]che_hime. I changed it from the old stupid username. For some garbage godforsaken reason
wouldn’t let me start a new paragraph until I put in the brackets!! Fucking hell. I know what I’m doing@ I typed what I typed and I meant it!Anyway, I went to the annual Factory Seconds Birch Panel sale at the art supply store and scored something like 27 panels (pre-gessoed)!!! Yes I spent A LOT MORE MONEY! Sob!!!!! Endless sobbing! April has seen a massive dip in my bank account. Not catastrophic thankfully, but there is the slimmest of chances that the clay pins will sell and I will make back the money.
How are you all doing??? Well I hope!!
