It doesn’t work out! Oh no! I tried to do something and it all turned to shit! I sold a doll and decided to mail it before the buyer sent the shipping money. BUT it turns out they weren’t home and the doll was stolen off the porch! So now I am going to have to refund the money. I mean I don’t HAVE to, but I would never NOT do it. It’s not a good situation for anyone. And a bit of a repeat of my Mirai being lost in the mail. (Curse you UPS! You suck). I keep layaway payments because I am afraid of just this situation. But it’s still a big loss and everything is crappy and I’m very unhappy. SO I am out a bunch of money and a very enthusiastic buyer has been robbed of a grail doll.
I think I’ll have to put off the Jerry’s Artarama order I was hoping to make. Not that I don’t have a ton of art supplies already! I mean seriously… I have so much art supplies! But there are MORE colors of watercolor I want to buy! ALSO, anyone else hang around on Pinterest way too much? HOW to people make tiny tiny full paintings the size of trading cards!?? My ATCs are so hamfisted and clumsy! I am also just letting my watercolors be sloppy. I have given up! I do not have a precise hand and I need to accept that fact. I mean, it’s a poor craftsman who blames their tools, and I keep searching for better materials that will make me as good as the artists on Pinterest.
So, speaking of art supplies- here is a gouache painting! It’s inked because I was going to color it with color pencils BUT then decided to practice with my gouache (the watercolor gouache) and see if I can do anything with it. As usual it’s sloppy as hell! But I did something?
It is… well, it is what it is. I really want to go back to my comfort zone and start a watercolor painting. But all my work is like this- it’s sloppy! I can only fix things with inks but the gouache will reactivate if wet media is adde don top. I could try lining it with more gouache or acrylic gouache but then I’d just have sloppy lines. I mean I can’t even cleanly ink my own lines…
Well, I hope all of you have had a better week!
Ugh! That’s a nightmare when shipping items! So many porch pirates these days.
