Orange You Glad I Keep Painting Cats?

A Pokemon Vullaby gijinka! I don’t often draw gijinka ( definition from the interweb: A non-human character, thing, or idea that has been turned into a human or humanoid in artwork). I had a really good idea for this character and managed to execute it pretty well. The pink in the hair is a little too pink? Maybe not a greyed out enough pink… anyway I like it for the most part.

I also received the color dictionaries I ordered from Japan last week.

They are really, really nice!

And I have another acrylic painting in the works! It will probably be for sale once I finish it. My dearest wish is to start selling paintings so I can buy art supplies of ever increasing quality!

I’m enjoying the contrast of colors even though it’s incredibly simple. The shirt will be off white and the sweater vest yellow with a dark blue grid pattern. The same on the headband and bow. I’m going to have to outline the cat with a color to “fix” the places I botched a bit. But it should be finished by the end of the week. For more process photos follow my Instagram

So many artists make their money through Patreon but you have to have a following already and it’s a TON of work. I tried it a few years ago but I had too much trouble making monthly rewards and only one person subscribed? I don’t remember. I quit it when I realized only already famous-ish people made money on there.
