Well, I did NOT sell any tiny art works at the tiny art show. I went to see it and not many pieces sold this year. It’s a big show too! There were some student works too- not sure of the age group- they were good, but not that good so I’m guess younger than high school. There was also a really good ceramics artist. I’ll post the highlights for the rest of the month but I’d like to start off with the ceramics! If I had a lot more disposable income I would have bought a bunch of these.
My favorite is this spiky urchin.
I’m not sure this is the same artist but it has the same vibe.
And of course I took some pics of my pieces in the wild.
I’ll post more next week! Not more of mine- but I’ll post some of the cool animal paintings people made! I wasn’t the only one. There was also a pleasant amount of bird art! Yay birbs! I finally conquered drawing cute dogs so maybe I can conquer cute birds next! Maybe… I dunno.
Not much else is going on. I have been drawing more bookmarks and using them for marker practice. I have one more for you.
The colors are brighter in person. I wanted to try shading with contrasting colors so I used a greenish grey underneath the red. It’s not amazing. I’m pleased with the clouds. I was thinking about adding gouache grass blades but didn’t. I need to practice gouache I’m just not… But the only way to get better is to try. And these are cheap gouache! It’s not like wasting Holbeins or something. I just haven’t worked up the nerve to work with them. I need to give it a shot! Gah!
I’m also back to trying to sell some dolls. I am selling my Tan Vela (Rosette/Soom), a Leeke World Florence head, and an old Doll Chateau kid body. I’d like to make some money and cull the dolls. Sadly a lot of the dolls I want to sell no one wants to buy. Just like my life. I’m selling but no one’s buying, be it art, books, or dolls. Le sigh…
Anyway- some of you out there I need to write to and send a thank you card for the lovely Xmas card I received!
I hope you’re all having a good week!
How much were you selling your tiny art for—and are they still for sale?
I like the greyed-out color you got in the girl’s dress.
