No Puns It's All Bad
Every country on earth needs to tell the U.S. to go fuck itself. For MULTIPLE reasons. The fucking dumbshit tariffs kick in. In a year or so I may not have healthcare. But, on to Ukraine! OMFG.
This week I’m starting with The Bulwark because these two old dudes have it NAILED. Pod Save America went a little scoldy on Zelensky which he did NOT deserve. But they have some insights too so I’m posting them anyway. A lot of people I listening to are saying this is the end of what everyone calls ‘the rules base order’ that has prevailed since the end of WWII after which the U.S. made allies and international organizations with mutual aid treaties. That’s about as deep as I can go, I’m an artist and not a historian. But this is a disolution of an order that we have taken for granted because we never lived in the chaos of the 20s,30’s, and 40’s.

The most terrifying thing in this episode is the fact that the federal courts wield no ACTUAL power aside from what the Executive branch acquiesces to because the enforcement arm at this level is CONTROLLED by the Executive branch. Our house is built on sand an it’s about to cave. This brings into question things like: even if Dems win the House on 2026 will the election results be accepted? Will those elected officials be allowed into the capitol to take office? Will their votes be viewed as legitimate? It’s so bad.
Art: That cat in a teapot painting that I hated? Well, it turns out I like it and I don’t want to sell it… The deadline is looming too! I could try to bust out some watercolors instead. Those I don’t feel bad about selling at a reasonable price. So I am very hurriedly doing it OVER in watercolor which I SWORE I wasn’t going to do the first time when I fucked it up! But here we go- version 2.0.
I’m using the same color scheme as the acrylic which was based off the sketch. This tea cup catscape is a companion piece. I was hoping to complete three piseces for this show but it probably won’t happen. And if the show doesn’t accept either piece I will be out $25…
There are three big expenses this month so no art supplies. I am still paying off Volks Diamond, the final layaway payment (yay!) on Aimerai Wicked, and the birch panel factory seconds sale so I can stock up on gessoed panels to paint at a deep discount! But damn that Jerry’s Artarama cart is burning a hole in the back of my mind. OH! If you want to support an American made brand of watercolor paper, I highly recommend Fluid Watercolor Block. They come in cellulose or cotton, and they are a product of Speedball. Some of the paper are milled in Holland, but I will support European products too.
Still fighting off sad buying dolls from the DoA marketplace. There are a couple things I have had my eye on for awhile but I won’t do it.
Spring flowers for you. I’m trying to be more conscious when I walk instead of just having my face in Pokemon Go the entire time.

These are definitely sucky times. Probably the worst I’ve seen.
Fluid makes some good watercolor blocks for a good price. I’m still partial to Arches—but they can be pricey.
