In some not awesome art news my paintings at Currents Gallery have NOT sold. I went to see them in the wild and no red dots! Only one piece in the entire sale sold! (I think). So I feel bad. I also feel a little bit like I cursed this show… Call them for purchasing inquiries 503-435-1316. It also turns out ALL my pieces are in the show! Which I did not know.

I am working some new pieces but it’s slow going. I can’t abandon Mattie!! She needs her people! And she’s stuck in one room because of her virus. So it’s hard to get into the studio and when I do it’s for a short amount of time and I need to be able to noodle on my art all day long. Also, GAMES. I am in too many. One is ending soon so I will that time slot open. The problem is I SHOULD start a shortish campaign to earn some money. I have a good idea for a homebrew Humblewood campaign that I think can clock in at 5 months. However there are two upcoming shows I want to try to get into. One is a joke- I will never get in. It’s the Gallery Nucleus postcard show. FAMOUS artists/illustrators/animators get in Gallery Nucleus shows. Not unknown slobs like me. The second one is for a gallery in Corvallis that I may stand a better chance of getting into. The theme is “wild women”. There is a gallery on the coast also putting on a 4”x6” ecological themed show called “Strive and Thrive” that I want to try for as well.

I can already feel myself chickening out on even doing something for the Gallery Nucleus show. The doubts are piling up. I’m not sure I can become a gallery artist. I don’t know what I’m doing. I’m so behind the 8 ball. Some of the depression might be politics, some of it is frustration with my studio situation. OH! And I did NOT win anything in the Jerry’s Artarama March art contest. It would have been nice to get that giftcard though. I have something like $240 worth of art supplies in my cart that I cannot buy.

It took something like 7 days to finish inking this just because I barely get to work in my studio anymore.
