Well, I am probably moving if the house sells. It’s a thing anyway. I don’t want to talk about it much. The house was just listed. So it depends on what happens. The problem about talking about it is that everything is up in the air. Nothing is set at all. It may or may not even happen! But I am missing games left and right because there is so much to do, and my schedule is turned upside down. With luck it will settle in a month or so! And then after that the goal is add another paid game to get me up to three. Kids on Brooms is still struggling which is a real shame.
Did I mention I bought three tarot decks? I’m pretty sure I did. The reason I mention it is because I have noticed an utick in AI “art” tarot decks! And it pisses me off!! I DO have ethical concerns about AI generated art since it learns by ripping off other artists- human artists, then recombining existing at that it has absorbed and spitting it out in a differing combination. Now, that’s not to say that I haven’t seen some beautiful AI art and that all of it is just bullshit. But while it’s neat, it’s still, I don’t know- I like art a human has made. However, I suppose it could be used for comics? And OMFG I miss making comics- I miss writing comics. AI generated art could conceivably help me realize a vision I could never achieve myself since I am a failure as a comic book arist. I am keeping a wary eye on AI art, just in case it could be useful but I would never claim it was MY art. I would never claim to have made it myself. I don’t know, we live in weird times and I hate it and I feel like if I’d been a writer in the 80s and an artist and an adult in the 80s I could have succeeded as at least one thing I wanted to do, like maybe I could have been a successful children’s author. But now it’s too late. The publishers are gone, the demands have changed, the market is completely different, etc. SO many publishers have been absorbed by massive conglomerates and mid-list authors keep getting dropped (last I heard) and marketing has totally changed… too late now though…
In the meantime I have spent too much money! I am buying another doll! Eep! It’s an Imomo Ruby in tan and I freaking LOVE the anime dolls! Arg!! Not that I’m overspending, it’s fine. I keep a close watch on my finances such as they are.
Anywho- I promised more art and I have more art! Up until last week I was going gangbusters on color pencil pieces in my kraft sketchbook. I was drawing more Pokemon trainers in the hopes I get to play more Pokemon one day!! I love it so much! I suppose I could TRY to learn Pokemon Tabletop United… but I don’t want to! I am barely scratching the surface of Zweihander! And I want to run a Bloodbourne style city crawler with Zwiehander. I left off walking, myself through character creation and I used the roll tables in the book for everything and rolled up a damn cool character! A lowborn elf vigilante with smoke grey hair and amber eyes. And I’m like- “Damn game! You know me!”
I got my painting turned in for the art sow at the art supply store! I am done!!! It has been agony! Mostly because ALL the cleaning/packing/hell happened during the week I was trying to finish a goddamn acrylic piece. I am also getting VERY close to just buying a set of Holbein Aqua Duo water-soluble oil paints plus the Aqua Duo linseed oil. I can get everything for a around $200-ish. That doesn’t count shipping. Dick Blick has them in sets and then I can pick up tubes from Jerry’s as I can afford them- which will not be frequently… they cost as much as oils do so we’re talking $12-$20 per tube, most of them landing in the $14-$15 range. SO I was thinking about splurging on them before I found the Imomo doll! So like- dolls win! LOL!
Holy crap! I forgot to post this little watercolor I did!
It’s watercolor with perhaps TOO much colored pencil for accents. I dunno… I like the idea of the multimedia benefits, getting in with detail and enriching both color and detail, the only problem is I can’t seem to art good…
And here is a Pokemon trainer! One of at least three finished ones.
I accidentally shaded the hair well! It’s not perfect, the waxy buildup of colored pencils kind of did me in toward the end. But when I tried to shade hair like that again on purpose it didn’t work!
Love both the watercolor kitty and the trainer. Both use cool techniques.
Heh. Another doll sucked you in! I’ve been lucky and haven’t bought any recently—but I’ve got way too many already.
Crazy about the house. Hope things settle down in a good way for you.
