OK, I drew two more ATCs and they aren’t abysmal. I bought a very cute book from Edward Hamilton, the discount/overstock book place I buy from frequently, about doodling cats and dogs, so I tried applying it to some art. And lo! It worked! I also got a very cheap how-to watercolor by Meredith Dillman and I’m working on a fairy watercolor. Mostly because I miss watercolor!
Also doodled a vampire-ish drawing and I tried some more marker. It’s not amazing…
I used green highlighter for the accent color. And a couple of PiTT pens for the yellow and the eyes. Color pencil to shade the face. I was too lazy to scan it. Also, it’s not THAT good.
Fairy watercolor. Nothing particularly special. Just nice to watercolor again.
I do want to practice with the gouache some more and someday I will finish this one witch painting which I started last year!! It’s acrylic on paper which is why I am going so fucking slowly…
In viewing habit news: I have watched ALL the episodes of JoJo’s Bizarre adventure that Netflix has to offer and now I kind of really want to run a JoJo-esque TTRPG AND guess what’s on sale at DriveThru RPG? Over Arms- a rules light TTRPG meant to replicate anime like JoJo and Shaman King and shows like that. Again, this is the nichest of niche Substacks! Maybe five of you know WTF I’m talking about.
Doll news: The ShouShou Doll Coco Kitty I had on layaway at BDivas is sipping to me! Arg! I was hoping to sell a few more dolls by now! I need to put a dent in the collection! But everything I have is near irreplaceable! BUT it’s not like I DO anything with them! So like, what’s the difference right?? But still, no takers on most all the stuff I AM trying to sell. Not even a nibble on the Immortality of Soul heads. I posted the Doll Chateau Alberta body and a cheap Honey Delf head I had lying around, and nothing! Goose eggs! Big fat zeros! If I had the intestinal fortitude, I would institute a rule for myself- one doll in, two dolls out. So sell two dolls for every doll I buy. And maybe I would stop fucking buying dolls!
Lastly in writing news: I am thinking about writing a Wanderhome novel based on Wanderhome the TTRPG. The company is very kind to allow, and even encourage, third party content. So I can self publish it and put it up on some ebook sites (yes Amazon), and itch.io.
In existential dread: global warming! This is the coolest summer you will ever experience in your life. And so depressed.
Mildly Better Art
I like your fairy watercolor drawing.
I love Meredith Dillman’s work. I have one of her originals.
Yeah, global warming is depressing…. 😩
