I have been painting some more but it isn’t coming out how I had hoped. I struggling with colors getting muddy. Acrylics are still difficult. I was going to paint all 10 of my canvas boards without stopping but I think I’d like to use a medium that I am more comfortable with for a little bit. I also keep meaning to work with gouache more and I’d like to use gouache on watercolor for more effects. I like the acrylic paint for basing tout colors but I would like to use more acrylic gouache on top of the basic paint for better detail. Of course I’m having trouble because I don’t want to use them up on my bad art. I worry that I won’t have the money to replace tubes and or buy more. So that’s been a self-imposed impediment. I’ll try to list more paintings for sale soon too. I might make the last cat painting I liked- the one with the oranges more expensive. It’s not perfect but I like it so I might as well get more money from it. I am frustrated that I haven’t found my old PhotoShop 7 disc. I would trust the scans from that more than I do Paint.Net. I could possibly make prints? But I’ve never had prints professionally made before. I could take them to a local print shop and see if they could scan them in for me…
Anyway I made a Linktree links site so you can see all my links in one place https://linktr.ee/Che_G And one link you may not be familiar with is Cara! It’s a new art/social media/portfolio site that DOES NOT scrape all the work submitted for AI learning. So a ton of artists have joined. I am literally the worst/least skilled person on there. Here is my Cara. I only put up 3 things so far. I have all of 2 whole followers! I feel like NO ONE would WANT to feed my art to AI anyway. I mean- AI can draw better than I can so why would you need to feed it bad art when there are better people to rip off? BUT there are some big names on Cara so if you’re an artist maybe check it out! There is a portfolio and there are developers and such on it.
And oh no!! I have $200 worth of art supplies in my Jerry’s cart, but a lot are overstock sale items? LOL! I cannot afford it! Most of it will be eliminated when the prices go back to normal. I have my eye on some more Japanese art books too. But I am concerned about money (as always) so I haven’t purchased anything this month. I budget a bit of “fun money” every month and try not to spend it until the month is half over. I did splurge on a how-to book from the art supply store when I went to the opening of the Squar Foot Show. Which I have pics of!! But too many. I will slowly post them.
There were a lot of cool multimedia pieces this year. And many who took advantage of the wood panels in unique ways like carving and woodburning.
More pics next week and the painting will be done!
Afaik, no gatekeepers at Cara EXCEPT for no AI. Have at it!
