AHHHHH!!!!!!!! Steinhardt's Guide to the Eldritch Hunt IS ON ROLL20!!!!!!!!!!! IMMA GONNA DIE!!! https://marketplace.roll20.net/browse/bundle/28166/steinhardts-guide-to-the-eldritch-hunt-package !!!!!!!!! GAH!!! I have had my eye on this thing for over a year! The physical books still aren’t out yet :( which makes me sad. I want to have the actual book book. BUT this is also the best thing because it comes with monsters! Which I don’t have to manually input. I am so thrilled this thing in on R20!! I am freaking out! I want this so bad!
Anyway, did I promise art?? I probably did. It doesn’t matter, you’re getting it anyway.
I copied the pose from the chibi how-to book I bought- so it’s fine. It encourages you to draw your own version. I also saw someone paint green bees on Pinterest and they were so cute I tried my own. It’s not great… I could do it better in watercolor.
The annual tiny art show is coming up at the local art supply store! I want to do more tiny acrylics BUT I’m not sure I’ll have all my shit together by then so I may have to paint three tiny watercolors. I just have to figure out what to mount them too. Maybe just cardboard? The maximum size is 3”x3” so I have to cut down some watercolor paper to get it to size.
In doll news Dream Valley, which has never really gotten to me just released a doll that is part white skin and part transparent called Bone Butterfly which is ridiculously awesome. Thing is, I don’t like Dream Valley’s face sculpts and I don’t want to hybrid and I don’t really WANT this doll. I just want to appreciate how WILD they went with this! It’s such a unique doll and a real innovation in resin casting. BUT I also have personal doll news: I have wanted to get a Luts Coco since she came out, but I wanted her in the best tan I could get which in my opinion is Luts Real Skin Tan. Luts only offers that tan resin a few times a year, so I decided to take advantage of their winter event to get a KID45 Coco in color I want. I really like Luts’ 45cm Kid body and Luts has very good engineering. The KID Mango I bought ages ago is a wonderful poser. I’m ordering through Denver Doll Emporium so I can use their layaway. Coco is one of the last anime style dolls from my list.
Bone Butterfly is super-cool. I like how the solid shafts for the elastic still look like bones. I’d be tempted but I’m overflowing with dolls already.
I got to go down to the San Diego BJD Con. They were a bit worried with a smaller crowd this year. But the dealers seemed to do ok. Great seeing the crew and other bjd folk.
Love the green cat-bee. The colors of the entire piece all harmonize so well considering the bee is the only green.
