Yes I have been drawing more vampires! Here is a nice scan of a Nosferatu I drew. Although someone on the Discord forum said she looked more like a Kiasyd than a Nosferatu and I had to look up Kiasyd. They are from back in the White Wolf days, some kind of weird Lasombra bloodline that was mixed with Fae magic. I am unfamiliar a lot of the more obscure White Wolf stuff. There was a lot of content in the old clan books and things. And that material is out of print and also 90% hasn’t been updated for the 5th edition. Anyway, the hallmark of Nosferatu is that they’re all super ugly, but they vary a lot more in the 5th edition. Which is kind of BS. But also, I dunno, maybe just scary looking is fine? I like her though…
I finally got to play my Tzimisce Saturnine Irastorza and he played pretty well. I’m trying to do him justice. He is a bit anachronistic and old fashioned so I get to be very formal. He is quite different from my two other characters and I’m still getting used to him. Unfortunately there wasn’t time to get him a zero session which would have helped me iron out his personality quirks a bit before he was thrown into the game. But he got thrown into the game cold! So it took me a minute to figure to figure out how he’d interact with the other player characters. I think I’ll hit a stride with him next game. I ended up playing Colman cold too, and he’s worked out fine. I hope I can find more Vampire the Masquerade games to play more of my characters in.
It’s also been difficult to actually START a game! Scheduling for one, but I’m also really scared that 1- I’ll be bad at DMing, and 2- No one will join my games! So I’m still trying to work up the nerve. Also the time slot that I managed to come up with is terrible and I don’t think I’ll be able be able to make everyone happy but there are a few people I specifically want to get into my games and I don’t know that I can. And that has also become a bit of a psychological barrier.
As you can guess, the Nosferatu Clan in VtM are the uggos. All of them are ugly on the outside but maybe a bit nice on the inside? And I am fully aware the character is NOT on model! I can’t draw the same thing twice! But that’s also one of a myriad of reasons I gave up on trying to be any sort of professional. And it’s one of the reasons I realized I’d never make it in comics. The biggest reason was because I tap out after 10 pages…. Also I was never that good at perspective or anatomy or changing camera angles… Anyway, I was never cut out for comics and for the longest time- since third grade!! It was my driving ambition.
LASTLY, in case you missed it I did update Ko-fi this week with an old one but a good one, my Swamp Witch.
