I have been hitting the gouache hard! Maybe too hard! I don’t know. I think I need to work on some simpler exercises such as the ones found in the at least 5-6 books on gouache that I now own. You will all see the fruits of my labor soon. It’s not great. It’s just ok. On the low end of OK. I have learned a few things from Youtube tutorials though. Like how to ink gouache. Which is the opposite of what I want! I rely on line work far too much but I don’t have the brush control for any alternatives!
Here are some more Tiny art works! I hope you aren’t tired of them yet. These are the more traditional works.
This maniac painted a 1”x1” piece!
The metallics are actually used to good effect.
“My boat….”
This one had a cool vibe and I’m sorry my photo isn’t better.
I adore this chicken painting!
I’m going to have to post more of the traditional/regular work next week as Substack has a message limit!
I suppose the big question on your minds is: Have I bought art supplies yet? No! I have not! My games are losing players. I have gone down a decoden rabbit hole. I went down it years ago but I couldn’t find the supplies. Now you can get UV resin and whipcream glue all over the place. So I began obsessing with making my very own Whimsicott cell phone stand. But my game headphones might be fritzing. And things aren’t great monetarily. I think I might start an Instagram and see if I can sell things. I am getting a lot worried about money. There will be NO Mildred Hubble doll for the foreseeable future.
The decoden could also help with a little thing I’ve been wanting to do for ages, which is mint tin dioramas. However, as usual, it takes money to buy all the shit I would need to make stuff. On top of which they would be great to make the a couple of the doll wigs I want to.
I’m also entranced by really gorgeous air dry clay sculptures on Pinterest and it’s another thing I THINK maybe I could DO. Except that I am wrong every time I think that sort of thing. For the most part I have been looking at art and craft supplies I can’t afford and it’s not a great feeling. It’s not like any of theses things are going anywhere.
Here’s some more shitty art.
Tell me how the scans look on your computer. Do the colors seem bright and nice? Its so hard to scan things and I miss my old Photosop 7…. The disc is around somewhere but got shuffled in the aborted move. Which means I can’t re-install it. I have no ide how my shit would look printed. I dunno. I’m guessing S.O.L. in terms of selling anything really.
Thanks for posting more of the tiny art show. It really had a good variety of styles. The chicken one was great! Loved your doggie, too. Super cute!
