Don't Sweater the Small Stuff

Noodle is WELL!

Yay! Noodle came through sugery just fine and got a bandage change on Tuesday. She can’t wait to be back in her old cage sans collar. She does not enjoy the little round collar tha keeps her from chewing off the bandage.

So art first. More knit wear- which should be to NO ONES surprise by now. And then yet another dark elf doodle. It’s still not great. I don’t like having such limited colors in marker, but it’s too much work to get my watercolors out and my desk is currently occupied with birdie medications and the syringes (no needle of course) for administering them. One is sticky and pink and Noodle keeps sneezing it out and I’ve gotten it on her head and she’s so filthy because she can’t bath or preen!

Anyway- OMG, art- if you can call it that… Here you go….

I don’t love the pants but couldn’t think of anything better. I like the hair but not thrilled with the jacket. I dunno. I miss watercolor! I still have them out but it’s really chaotic right now. I have things in my brain and I can’t get them out n paper. I wish I could but I’m not that good…

To no one’s surprise it’s another giant chonky sweater!! I made an attempt to add the patterned cable knit. I usually chicken out on shit like that. I am not good at drawing!

I would love to buy more art supplies but 1) I’m moving and 2) I just watched an episode of Hoarders where the woman had TUBS of expensive art supplies she never used! I mean a plastic bin FULL OF DANIEL SMITH WATERCOLORS!! And a TUB of GOLDEN ACRYLICS! Like these are SO EXPENSIVE! I would kill of a tub of Daniel Smith watercolors though! They are $14+ a tube!!! My BLOB!!! But it got me thinking I really need to practice with the stuff I have. Sadly right now, as much as I want to paint- I have NO IDEAS for paintings, and all my shit is packed… But I fully freaked out for 10 minutes and STILL cannot get over the TUB of Daniel Smith watercolors!!! I have THREE tubes of Daniel Smith and only JUST acquired 4 tubes of Holbein! The maority of my watercolors are Grumbacher Acedemy watercolors at the hot price $4 (and change) a tube!!!! I laso like the Cotman Watercolors which are the cheap Windsor Newton brand. I have a small sample set of Turner which have brilliant colors! But I CANNOT AFFORD A FUCKING TUB OF EXPENSIVE ASS WATERCOLORS! Would that I could though…. I’d also like to maybe try some larger watercolors. Again, I have no ideas for art but maybe I will again. I would LOVE to buy some more art supplies! But I don’t need them right now, it can wait until after the move is done.

I saw a tote bag on interest that read “I miss my pre-internet brain” and that resonated with me so deeply! I used to have ideas! I used to write! I used to do art! I remember paying attention to shit! I remember reading! And I want to get back to that again somehow. I just have to balance out the times I need my computer for games and times when I can put it away. I looked for a laptop size lockbox with a timer lock but such a thing doesn’t exist. I almost found one, but it was too small for my laptop! It was a dorm safe for your laptop to keep your roomie from fucking with your shit or selling it for drugs. LOL! Anyway I couldn’t find a lockbox for my laptop.
