I finally bought a container with a time lock for my phone so I can put it away for hours at a time. I looked into the Ksafe (Kitchen Safe) that the episode of Offline recommended (the one I posted a couple weeks ago- scroll down if you missed it!) BUT the Ksafe is very expensive. I found a cheap container safe on ebay from a place that looks like they just buy random shit and sell it on ebay. Whatever! It will be here on Wednesday and I’ll find out if it needs batteries or not. I probably have batteries though…. Anyway, I’m trying reclaim more of my time and creativity.
In doll news I put up a WTB for Dollzone Mirai on Den of Angels and someone contacted me!! Its not the fullset, but she has parts from her fullset, but not the original face-up which means I’ll have to send her head out for face-up… le sigh… It’ll be fine. I haven’t paid yet, I just want final “proof of ownership” pics and then we’re good to go! I have the refund money ready.
OK- UPDATE: As I type this my phone is in it’s brand new little jail cell and I love it! The phone safe I mean. There is a moment of panic when you can’t get to it, and a second moment of panic when you are wandering the house and wonder where your phone is, but that’s just the phone addiction talking. There’s also a few minutes at the beginning while you flounder about what to do with the time until your phone unlocks. However it’s not insurmountable. In the 4 hours I locked up my phone I ate lunch, watched a subtitled Polish horror movie called Hellhole, cleaned the toilet and vacuumed a bit AND input more Pokemon.
Anyway, no art this week, sorry. I haven’t been inspired and I haven’t been making time for art either. I have an idea for a painting and it’s going to be acrylic on canvas board and it’s going to be another lost cause but by Blob I’m going to try.
Here is a great recommendation for a horror podcast, The Mayfair Watcher’s Society It is a nice combo of Twilight Zone, X-Files and monster of the week TV shows. It’s about a Canadian town called Mayfair and the hapless residents whose lives take a turn for the monstrous when they run into the strange creatures that haunt their world. The voice acting is a bit hit or miss, and VERY Canadian, but the stories are spooky and well done.
