My Kids on Brooms game has two players, with one more (possibly) in the pipeline! I need 4 players total and it’s filling up nicely. Wheee!!! I’m so excited! I also homebrewed mechanics for familiars in game! So they can participate in the game and not be flavor or forgotten like pets in D&D. And when I was thinking about pets I doodled a tiny dragon. I think familiars- at least in my game, can be ANYTHING but they have to be under 50 lbs. Maybe less. Still working on it. But 50 lbs is a largish dog so that seems reasonable.
And sadly this derpy dragon is the only art I have for you all this week!
I turned in my miniature cat and dog painting for the miniature show at the art supply store. The two clerks liked the paintings and said they were really cute and they liked my style which was nice to hear. The show opens in February and this time I’ll take pictures! It hasn’t occurred to me to take pics of the other shows! I had work in the Art by the Foot show, but none in the pet show, and now I’m back for the Mini show. BUT I wish I had taken pics of the pet show! There was some great art in it.
In writing news: Soon I will have Tuesday and Friday clear for awhile and I’m hoping to use a few days off to clean more and write. I’d like to keep working on the Wanderhome novel. It’s been weeks since I’ve touched it- possibly a couple months. But the office (spare room) is a mess right now so that’s been a convenient excuse to NOT write. But there’s no good news about Ink and Venom. So I guess switching careers is good. I don’t think I’m going to make it as a MG author,
period, the end. Pro-GMing is a good job that I like and it’s still creative. Plus I have a house save and it’s better than retail.
There are also a bunch of books on Edward Hamilton Books that I want. And I’m trying to decide if I want to spend money but I have been very wary of spending anything this month. I am waiting for my finances to shake out with the new job. BUT I was gifted with monies for the holidays and I could technically spend it on a big fun book order…
