Balls to the Walz

I could not help myself! It’s RIGHT THERE! Perfect Harris-Walz campaign slogan. OK they have a couple fine slogans already. But I can’t be the only thinking this right? It been circling my brain for a while now. Anyway- they are good ticket! VOTE y’all! Cough cough *votebluenomatterwho*. No but seriously- this has been such game changer even though it’s absolute madness! Biden 100% did the right thing at the expense of his hopes and dreams. I know what it feels like to have to give on something you love deeply and have pursued for a LONG time.

Anyway! Gah! Instagram is getting to me! I see so many artists with so many products, patreons, followers, and careers and I think to myself “I can’t do anything right can I?” The traditional artists make just as many products as the digital artists- of course there is a lot of editing that goes into getting traditional to look right and print right. I miss Photoshop 7. Haven’t stumbled across the disc yet. I would have to watch a ton of tutorials to learn Krita, same with Fire Alpaca which is also an art program that showed up in my search for free art programs. Once Upon a Time I wanted to be a gallery artist and I am wondering if it’s an achievable goal. I don’t think it is. But maybe when I’m 70 I’ll get some where just in time to die.

But that didn’t stop me from making another HUGE order from Jerry’s Artarama. They have a sale on 16”x20” canvas. A pack of 20 for only $40!!! Yes I bought it! WTF am I going to do with them??? Make a bunch of acrylic paintings I guess! The order is too long to list but along with TWENTY STRETCHED CANVASES, but I bought some gesso, the isolation coat for acrylic paintings, some micro-mini brushes for those 3”x3” panels, two watercolor blocks, and a variety of panels in various sizes. I couldn’t afford paint this month. I also spent $100 on LAMPS and light bulbs! GAH! But at least I can see what I’m doing now so that’s nice. I have a desk lamp for the writing nook too so I’m hoping I can do some art at the desk while on games.

In game news my Pokemon player character Edwina wiped out and she’s been replaced with a character that vibes with the group more. A punk girl named Zeta. All her Pokemon are named after explosives.

I am still working with markers for game characters. I am still enjoying being able to draw and color quickly. I went WAY overboard on the hoodie plaid. It got away from me. Sorry I don’t have more art this week. I have more that is stacked up next to my scanner that I haven’t scanned yet. Remember- I have art for sale on my Ko-fi Shop!

In addition to the incoming art supplies I also spent a stupid amount of money on LAMPS. Yes, lamps. I bought a floor lamp with a built in reading lamp which I put next to my desk so I have TWO lamps illuminating my work desk now! I can see my art! And I have a nice desk lamp for the writing nook. SO I can paint there too… No I’m not writing. Someday maybe! I don’t know….

Under “Things I Like” is the film Apartment 212 on Tubi. It’s a great creature feature with good acting and a lovable sidekick. Just watch it! It’s absolutely worth it. I will say though I have watched some really terrible stuff on Tubi that has slid off my brain, and some haunting shit that I can’t shake. I will refrain from posting the movies that go hard though. You’re here for fun things :)
